Role Overview

We are seeking a passionate and experienced registered GMC  GP with specialist training in rheumatology to join a leading clinic  in this exciting part-time role. This position is ideal for someone looking to establish their private practice, with a focus on treating fibromyalgia and related conditions using Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS). The role will involve assessing patients prior

to treatment and working closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standards of care.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Assessment & Care:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with chronic pain, including fibromyalgia and hypermobility syndromes.
  • Provide clear diagnoses, treatment plans, and communicate findings effectively with the clinic team.
  • Collaborate with the medical team to deliver rTMS treatments and ensure best practices in patient care.

Clinical Research:

  • Contribute to ongoing research efforts focused on chronic pain management and rheumatology.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research in chronic pain treatments and rheumatology.

Patient-Centred Care:

  • Maintain a strong commitment to patient care by ensuring all patients are treated with dignity and respect.
  • Offer expert guidance in managing and diagnosing inflammatory autoimmune conditions and other rheumatological diseases.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Work closely with the clinic’s team of medical professionals to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
  • Effectively communicate diagnoses, treatment options, and recommendations to patients and their families. Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • Consultant Rheumatologist (UK or Ireland accredited), or a GP with specialist training in rheumatology.
  • Significant experience in diagnosing and managing hypermobility syndromes (HEDS/HSD) and fibromyalgia.
  • Expertise in managing inflammatory autoimmune rheumatological conditions.
  • Ability to rule out conditions that may mimic fibromyalgia (e.g. cancers, inflammatory arthritis).
  • Excellent diagnostic skills and the ability to conduct thorough rheumatological examinations.
