About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial Consultant Gynaecologist to join a boutique private women’s health and wellness practice led by a high-achieving Obstetrics & Gynaecology Consultant in London.

This is an exciting opportunity for a clinically skilled and business-minded Consultant Gynaecologist to help expand a premium private service, offering comprehensive women’s healthcare within a luxury, patient-centred environment.

The ideal Consultant Gynaecologist will be confident performing a wide range of gynaecological and fertility-related procedures and will bring creative ideas to develop new service lines and patient pathways in women’s health.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a full range of gynaecological ultrasound scans, including transvaginal, pelvic, and abdominal imaging.

  • Conduct fertility-related assessments such as IUI checks and cycle monitoring.

  • Undertake blood sampling, investigations, and interpretation of diagnostic results.

  • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based clinical consultations with warmth, professionalism, and empathy.

  • Support the practice’s growth through entrepreneurial input — identifying new service opportunities in women’s health, wellness, and preventive medicine.

  • Collaborate closely with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure a seamless patient experience.

  • Participate in patient management meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and service-development discussions.

  • Maintain full compliance with CQC standards, GMC registration, and private hospital protocols.

  • Contribute to marketing and business-development activities where appropriate (e.g., talks, content, patient engagement).

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Fully registered with the GMC (Specialist Register in Obstetrics & Gynaecology).

  • Proven ability to perform all major gynaecological and fertility-related scans (transvaginal, pelvic, abdominal, IUI checks, ultrasound).

  • Confident taking and interpreting blood tests.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills — able to build rapport in a boutique, high-end private environment.

  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability, collaborative approach, and positive outlook.

  • Commercial awareness with a genuine entrepreneurial mindset — able to contribute ideas to expand women’s healthcare services.

  • Excellent attention to detail, reliability, and clinical integrity.

Desirable

  • Minimum 10–15 years’ post-qualification experience (NHS or private sector).

  • Previous private practice experience or familiarity with another leading private London hospital ideal but not essential.

  • Established admitting rights or willingness to apply for admitting rights at a private hospital (assistance provided).

  • Existing relationships with private insurers advantageous (assistance provided).

  • Experience working within fertility, early pregnancy, or wellness clinics.

Personal Qualities

  • Warm, approachable, and patient-centred.

  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and results-driven.

  • Thrives in a boutique, collaborative, and high-standards environment.

  • Excited by innovation in women’s health and committed to delivering exceptional care.

Engagement & Terms

  • Start: Immediate or by agreement

  • Schedule: Initially 1–2 days per week (Tuesday and/or Wednesday), plus Saturday if available, with potential for more weekdays next year

  • Location: Luxury private hospital consulting rooms

  • Contract: Self-employed consultancy agreement

  • Professional Indemnity: Paid by company

  • Pay Range: £500–£1,000 per day (depending on experience)
