Our Client is an award-winning boutique private hospital based in the heart of Chelsea is seeking a Hospital Porter. You will join a team of 50 permanent staff and the clinic’s hand-picked exclusive team of the country’s leading surgical, aesthetic, and dermatological consultants who work to deliver industry-leading healthcare and patient experiences.

The successful candidate will work as part of a forward-thinking team, liaising with consultants and across departments to
ensure the highest standard of care is delivered at all times.

Job Specification
This is a full-time position consisting of 40 hours per week working 8 hour shifts.
Monday to Friday 8:30- 17:00, though on occasion you may be required to start as early as 7am and finish as late as 19:30 with some occasional weekend work.

The role and responsibilities
• Liaising all relevant information between consultants, operating theatre staff and relevant out-patient clinic staff.
• Designing and implementing an inventory tracking system to accurately monitor stock levels
• Maintain up to date stock map
• Co-ordinate regular replenishment of stock in all areas from stock locations
• Optimise storage space with practical use of space
• Sourcing suppliers and fostering good relationships with them
• Preparing and documenting daily deliveries and returns
• Preparing reports and advising management on strategies to reduce cost and streamline procedures
• Maintaining an accurate inventory database that includes detailed information on all stock
• Organise stock so Theatre Teams can move easily find supplies and self-serve
• Purchasing new stock and negotiating favourable contracts with suppliers
• Working closely with theatre bookings, theatre and outpatient staff and other relevant departments to organise the efficient flow of inventory
• Manage SSD under the direction of the theatre manager
• Be accountable for prosthetic and garment consignment stock usage reporting and liaise with the theatre bookings team to ensure accurate billing
• Assisting with the movement of patients between wards and departments.
• Ensuring the safe movement of medical equipment
• Transporting clinical waste and dangerous materials
• Ordering and distributing the delivery of medical gas cylinders.
• Delivering consumables, equipment, furniture, pharmaceutical and pathology items to stores.
• Manage linen deliveries.
• Manage removal of waste and recycling.
• Transport samples and specimens around the hospital in a timely manner following policies.
• Stock management, ordering and supporting procurement.
• Maintain and deliver policy’s ensuring in clinic standards are maintained at a high level.
• Provide support to all departments’ teams ensuring high quality patient centric care is provided throughout the journey.
• Work with the in-clinic team to support day to day out patient operations ensuring a seamless in clinic experience for all patients, visitors, consultants, and staff.
• Work proactively to identify and solve or report in clinic issues to minimise risk and ensure H&S standards.
• You will handle general day to day activities such as ensuring the clinic is presented to the best standard at all times, general housekeeping duties and area set up throughout the day.
