Our client is a luxury clinic-based specialist in day-case plastic surgery and dermatology in West London.

The successful candidate will be able to build a strong rapport with their clinical team, with our consultants, and with the wider Clinic ecosystem equally. Key Accountabilities
1. To ensure the safety and care of patients within the theatre and treatment room department
2. To provide clinical leadership to staff and Consultants, alongside the Consultant Clinical Directors
3. Co-ordinate the day to day running of the department ensuring efficient use of resources – particularly high utilisation of theatres, in combination with the theatre bookings team
4. To supervise and monitor standards of nursing care and practice and keep abreast of technical and surgical developments
5. Understand the needs and requirements of Consultant users, building a forward-thinking working environment
6. (Ensure compliance with the hospital governance, risk assurance and CQC regulation)

Specific Accountabilities
1. To ensure the safety and care of patients within your department
a. To demonstrate good clinical practice and monitor the practice of all staff within your department
b. Ensure equipment is maintained, functioning and cleaned correctly and that staff are trained in handling and using all equipment
c. Compliance by you and your team with clinic policy and procedures
d. Maintain close liaison with all Consultants and staff so that patients receive optimum levels of care
e. Ensure the delivery of appropriate, individualised care, with care delivery in a safe environment
f. Ensure evidence based practice is undertaken within your department
g. Analyse outcomes of care, ensuring that action is taken following clinical audit review
h. Continuously look for improvements relating to the patient journey
i. Support the Clinic Director in satisfactorily resolving all complaints
j. Evaluate information regarding clinical standards and develop action plans where gaps exist
k. Agree the required capabilities and competencies for safe practice, across the clinical areas

2. To provide clinical leadership for staff and Consultants
a. Lead and develop staff to reach their full potential
b. Act as role model promoting the company values at all times
c. Agree clear, specific objectives and review performance in line with company appraisal system
d. Mange poor performance in line with company policy
e. Act as role model for staff, exercising leadership and team spirit
f. Foster a supportive working environment, maintaining staff morale and facilitating good and effective communication with team members and Consultant users

3. Co-ordinate the day to day running of the department ensuring efficient use of resources
a. Accountability for the rostering of staff within the outpatient department, providing the required skill mix, which promotes a cost effective service
b. Provide a focus on business results whilst maintain the balance between quality care and sound financial performance
c. Ensure theatres requirements for surgery as per consultant preferences, including equipment are planned 2 weeks ahead of time, revised the week before and prepared the evening before
d. Ensure theatres run to time

4. To supervise and monitor standards of nursing care and practice and keep abreast of technical and surgical developments

a. Maintain quality to agreed standards within the clinic
b. Develop own knowledge and practice and facilitate continual professional
development amongst others
c. Ensure legislation, policies and procedures are correctly applied within the department
d. Maintain an awareness of current advances in nursing practice and research and attend continuing education programmes

5. Understand the needs and requirements of Consultants users, building a collaborative working relationship
a.Demonstrate commercial awareness
b.Build open and trusting relationships with Consultant users, demonstrating a willingness to promote new ideas and business opportunities

6. Ensure compliance with hospital Governance, risk assurance and CQC regulation
a. Support the Clinical Governance Lead in the completion of regulatory action plans following inspections
b. Ensure that regulation, policy and procedure are correctly applied within the clinic
c. Challenge poor practice and take appropriate action
d. Maintain an active role in clinical audit working closely with the Clinical Governance
lead and MAC chairman

Professional Accountabilities
• Act as an accountable practitioner and in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code of Professional Conduct
• Work within the framework of clinical and professional guidelines which promote patient well being and safety
• Work in accordance with company policy and procedure
• Develop own knowledge and accountability for ongoing professional development
• To comply with well defined codes of practice concerning controlled drugs and registering of operating cases
