If you have secretarial experience in private medical, we have a number of temporary and permanent roles within private hospitals and clinics. You must have Impeccable telephone manner, excellent communication skills and ability to think on your feet and multi-task.

Duties for Medical Secretary include:

  • Being the first point of contact for calls from patients, hospital staff and GPs
  • Ensuring professionalism and excellent customer service at all times
  • Patient billing, approving invoices, ensure pricing and theatre costs are accurately captured
  • Prepare and manage clinic and theatre appointments/lists
  • Deal with referral letters and onward referrals
  • Liaise with patients on all matters relating to the arrangement and organisation of appointments, referrals, correspondence, follow up, and any matters as delegated by the consultant
  • Document management; dealing with all correspondence, typing, faxing, filing, scanning, archiving
  • Ensure prompt and accurate audio transcription of all patient-related and general correspondence

  • Previous experience as a medical secretary
  • Audio typing experience, and 50+ wpm typing speed
  • Excellent working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, including Word and Outlook
  • Experience of working within a private clinic or hospital
  • GDPR knowledge
