Our client is a luxury clinic-based specialist in day-case plastic surgery and dermatology in West London.

Looking for an experienced Health Care Assistant.

Key Accountabilities
1. Assist in the delivery of care to meet individual patient needs
2. Establish good communication with patients, consultants, and colleagues on routine care matters
3. Ensure that your actions contribute towards maintaining quality and service
4. Assist and support senior managers in developing and implementing processes
5. Undertake routine tasks related to patient care
6. Assess priorities and act with urgency to facilitate a streamlined patient journey
7. Contribute to your own personal development
8. Support all regulatory processes within the clinic

Specific Accountabilities
1. Assist in the delivery of care to meet individual patient needs
• Ensure patients are made to feel welcome and comfortable whilst in clinic
• Ensure patient consent has been obtained prior to treatment
• Respect patient privacy and dignity and minimise any necessary discomfort
• Prepare patient and any equipment/materials for the activity to be undertaken
• Support patient throughout treatment/procedures when assisting
2. Establish good communication with Consultants, patients and colleagues on routine care matters
• Communicate clearly and in a professional, confident manner
• Provide and receive information in a tactful manner with the intended audience in mind
• Check accuracy of information received
• Communicate only with those who have a right to know the information you are offering, in order to maintain patient confidentiality
3. Ensure that your actions contribute towards maintaining quality and service
• Work in accordance with company policy, demonstrating awareness of health and safety at all times
• Understand your job role and where to seek help and support
• Maintain a safe working environment for patients, visitors and colleagues
• Maintain quality to agreed standards
• Report and take action in relation to any identified risks within the workplace
• Apply legislation, policy and procedure correctly within the working environment
• Ensure patient experience is at the forefront of all that you do
4. Assist and support senior managers in developing and implementing processes
• Contribute to the achieving the company business objectives within your capability and accountability
• Be proactive and innovative, identifying processes requiring improvement and suggesting solutions
• Ensuring follow through on new processes implemented and encouraging colleagues to do the same
• Act in a manner at all times which promotes the best interests of the company
5. Undertake routine tasks related to patient care
• Undertake assessment tasks as delegated in relation to specific patients
• Supply and maintain equipment
• Contribute to the effectiveness of the in-clinic teams as a whole
• Undertake tasks which you have trained for and are competent to do
• Record information related to designated tasks accurately, passing it on to the
relevant team and uploading to Pabau to ensure these records are maintained
• Ensure stock levels and expiry dates are maintained and recorded
• Ensure consulting and treatment rooms are maintained to the highest standard,
reporting any relevant issues to the clinic manager
6. Assess priorities and act with urgency to facilitate a streamlined patient journey
• Maintain consistent communication across all clinic teams to identify and resolve issues before they arise
• Act with urgency to enable the highest level of patient care and an optimum consultant experience
• Assess immediate priorities and manage patient/consultant expectations
• Work closely with colleagues in the outpatient team to share outstanding actions, ensuring efficiency and activity is completed in a timely manner
7. Contribute to your own personal development
• Complete the requirements of the company induction programme
• Complete the requirements of the HCA competencies
• Take an active part in learning activities and keep a record of these
8. Support all regulatory processes within the clinic
• To understand and comply with Health & Safety and Infection Control policies
• To be aware of all regulatory processes and systems i.e. Fire procedure, consent form/WHO checklist requirements, sickness reporting etc.
• Provide support to the Clinic Manager to maintain and update quality systems within the clinic
• Contribute to and participate with all regulatory action plans, audits, risk assessments
• Be familiar with nurse on call system and respond to any alarms or alerts

Personal Accountabilities

• Work in accordance with company policy and procedure
• Develop own knowledge for ongoing development
